Exploring Darkness and Loneliness

This post is written by a guest contributor, Amit Kumar.   It was 4 in the morning and I suddenly woke up by a bad dream.  There was no one around in my home and I just felt so lonely that tears started rolling, finding that there was no one to give me hope in the midst of crisis. My brother was diagnosed with kidney failure and my whole family was with him at a distant location and I was left all alone at my home. I did not know how to handle this much loneliness and sorrow. I was not able to handle all these things and negativity started to enter in my life in a form of pessimism.2 years passed and I was in an engineering college studying mechanical engineering. Many things have changed and I had lost my optimistic attitude about life. I used to be one of the most optimistic persons you would ever meet but the crisis in my family had changed me. I was unable to find out why my brother was suffering even after being such a nice human being. My mind had become a battle ground … [Read more...]

Especially I'm not used to totally not working. But I’ve learned few … [Read more...]

4 Steps in Confronting Your Anxiety and Worry

"To be happy, one only must be able to confront, which is to say, experience, those things that are. Unhappiness is only this: the inability to confront that which is." - L. Ron HubbardAnxiety and worry come from our own insecurity and fear.  Both are state of mind controlled by our thoughts.  Often, how we handle these thoughts show the strength or weakness of our character. There are few people who can solve their anxiety and worry just by simply ignoring it.  They've acquired mastery and control over their thoughts that anxiety and worry doesn't affect them.  The strength of their character helps them to forget and move on easily. On the other hand, most people let their anxiety and worry overpower them.  They carry it wherever they go, they can’t let it go, simply ignore it and move on.  Their emotion had taken over their ability to control their thoughts. If you are the type of person who cannot confront your anxiety and worry, you have to start learning how to … [Read more...]
