5 Things to Do on Christmas

It’s Christmas time again, the favorite season of many, especially the kids and young at hearts!

Although not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I’m sure a lot of people look forward to this holiday season.

One of the wonders that the Christmas spirit create is an ambiance and aura of joy in the air. When it’s Christmas season, most people seems to be happier than usual. Christmas season is even said to be the merriest time of the year. I guess it’s because during this time, there are lots of Christmas parties and get-togethers, the gift giving spirit, the shimmering Christmas trees and lights, the abundance of delicious food, the nice cold weather, the long holiday vacation and the melody of Christmas carols.

However, despite all the activities that are already going around during Christmas Season, you may still occasionally find yourself asking,

“What can I do on Christmas?”

In this article, you will pick up five (5) things to do on Christmas to make this year’s holiday season a meaningful and transforming one.

1. Slow Down and Relax

Throughout the year, you’ve been probably living a life of rush and stress. You rush from one place to another – going back and forth from home to work, and vice versa – and stressing over a lot of activities and circumstances, such as work deadlines and life problems. And the least thing you do is to find time to slow down and just relax.

This Christmas, instead of stressing yourself and getting too busy preparing for the party – making sure everything is perfect – take time to let go of control, slow down and just relax. You’ve already been so organized and busy throughout the year, for a change, allow yourself to just slow down and relax.

2. Relate and Communicate

Another neglected activity nowadays is to give time to relate and communicate with people. The definition of relating and communicating has been changed. People think as long as they do the act of communicating and seeing each other is already the key to a healthy relationship. However, they neglect the one important factor, and that’s listening.

This Christmas, instead of talking about ourselves or the lives of other people you really don’t care about, spend this time to communicate, relate and listen to significant people in your life. Communication is about listening with understanding and concentration. Not just the mere act of conversing.

3. Give and Share

During Christmas, often you buy gifts to important people in your life such as our family, friends, bosses, co-workers, business partners, or other VIPs.

This Christmas, share the gift-giving spirit not only to important people but also to the people, who may not significantly affect your life, yet they play a relevant role in your day to day activities – such as the maintenance personnel, the guards, drivers, maids, delivery man, etc.

4. Be Grateful and Count Your Blessings

If you have been reading Lifetofullest.com for some time now, I’m sure you already understand the importance of being grateful and counting one’s blessings.

This Christmas, stop asking for what you don’t have but instead think of all the things you have. Be grateful for all the blessings that exist in your life. Oftentimes, the reason of your stress, frustration and sadness is caused by looking at what you don’t have while neglecting to appreciate what you do have.

5. Reflect and Meditate

All throughout the year you’ve been busy with lots of activities and complaining or stressing over many things. Lack of reflection and meditation is one of the causes of your stress and dissatisfaction.

This Christmas, take time to reflect and meditate. The act of being silent and thoughtless is a transforming experience that will rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.

Your mind is a powerful tool that can make or break you. Through reflection and meditation, you will be able to be mindful and take control of the most powerful tool you have, and learn to direct it into a more positive and productive thoughts.

Remember that you can transform your life by transforming your thoughts.
